How many appellations of origin are there in Spain? What is a vino de pago? and a vino de la tierra? does the age of the vines matter in the wine? can the same grape produce different wines depending on where it is grown? do I always have to shake the glass? will I always like a more expensive wine better than a lower priced one?
We will begin with a brief introduction to the world of wine tasting, and you will be provided with a Tasting Manual prepared by Gourmet Madrid.
First Round
The wine tasting begins, one by one you will taste the 6 wines (normally 2 whites and 4 reds) blind, so that you will not be influenced by brands, grapes or prices. You will be able to interact with the sommelier giving your opinion: what does it smell like and why, why is it very or very little astringent, do you like it?
Second Round
The wines evolve with oxygenation and change. Once the 6 wines have been tasted, we take them back to see their evolution and discover their Denominations of Origin and the grapes and characteristics they have. You thought you only liked Ribera del Duero and you have been dazzled by a wine from Jumilla? When your senses are tasting, everything is possible.
In this round you will vote for your favorites, which may have changed from one round to another, and you will be able to comment on what you think. In some tastings the wine with a lower price has been the most voted, beating wines that were twice the price, in others, a Vino de Pago or a Ribera del Duero. Which one do you think you would vote for?
Once the tasting course is over, you will have the opportunity to purchase some of the wines used.

Cities are not only defined by the historical milestones that defined them. There are other stories, more hidden, embedded in the subconscious of its inhabitants, which sometimes draw them better than their own streets and squares.
