We will begin the excursion to the Villa de Candelaria, home of the Patron Saint of the Canary Islands: the Virgin of Candelaria, known as "la morenita". It is considered a sacred place of pilgrimage. Here you will also have the opportunity to see the imposing bronze statues commemorating the ancient menceyes (Guanche kings) of Tenerife.
We will continue along the southeast coast to reach Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas, one of the most touristic points of the island, where we will take a short bus tour.
We will continue the route through the villages of Playa San Juan and Playa de La Arena, famous for its black sand beach.
We will arrive at the Mirador de Los Gigantes, where we can admire the majestic cliffs with their vertiginous vertical walls that fall into the ocean from heights ranging between 300 and 600 meters. In aboriginal times they were known as "Hell's Wall" or "Devil's Wall".
We will cross the villages of Tamaimo and Santiago del Teide until we reach the municipality of El Tanque, where we will have a break for lunch (lunch not included).
We will descend to the Mirador de Garachico to have a panoramic view of La Villa and Puerto de Garachico. A village that rose from the ashes after a volcanic eruption in 1706 that caused its partial destruction and is currently included in the list of the Most Beautiful Villages of Spain.
The next stop is Icod de Los Vinos, where there will be free time to visit its historic center and contemplate the famous Drago Milenario, declared a National Monument in 1917.
Finally we will return to Puerto de la Cruz, crossing the municipalities of San Juan de la Rambla and Los Realejos.
