We start the excursion to the village of Candelaria. There you can visit its basilica, inside which is the Virgen de Candelaria (or Virgen Morenita), which is the patron saint of the Canary Islands. You will also be amazed by the imposing bronze statues commemorating the ancient menceyes (Guanche kings) of Tenerife, which are a national monument.
We will continue the route to La Laguna, the first city founded in Tenerife after its conquest. This historical jewel was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. Here we will walk through its picturesque streets brimming with history and culture.
The excursion continues to the north of the island, where you will make a walking tour through the Historic-Artistic Site of the Villa de La Orotava. Its streets full of history and beauty will take you to La Casa de Los Balcones, one of the most representative buildings of La Orotava and center of embroidery and fretwork of the typical costumes of the Canary Islands.
We will continue with a visit to Garachico, included in 2021 in the list of "MOST BEAUTIFUL TOWNS IN SPAIN", a town that after being partially destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 1706 was later rebuilt. It currently has a rich architectural heritage of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries very well preserved, which is why its historic center was delarado Bien de Interés Cultural in 1994.
You will have free time for lunch on your own.
On the way back we will enter the Teno Rural Park to visit the hamlet of Masca, one of the most beautiful landscapes of Tenerife where nature and one of the best examples of traditional architecture of the Canary Islands are mixed.
