Get to know this wonderful town with our freetour, which will take you (for about two hours) around the monastery.
In the Plaza de San Lorenzo, near where we will start the visit, we will talk about a servant of Velázquez with very good skills; and from there, we will continue to the Park of Philip II, where this king had a run-in with a soldier. We will cross to the Carretera de la Estación, where we will be assailed by a question: Why is the huge building that the king ordered to be built in the shape of a grill? Our steps will lead us down Floridablanca Street to the Coliseo de Carlos III, the oldest closed theater in Spain.
We will return to the large esplanade surrounding the monastery to learn about the legend of the golden bricks, and continue to the gardens of the friars, where we will enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the place.
We will finish the tour by the Paseo de los Alamillos, looking for the footprint that, according to the story, the devil himself left when he stepped on a rock, enraged because a young girl refused to blaspheme...

As early as the 12th century, the monks of Cluny were growing grapes on the banks of the Duero River to produce wine. The Ribera del Duero is in the heart of Castilla-León, the old land of castles. The subsoil of almost all the villages is practically hollow, with caves dug to store the wine, as they guarantee perfect conditions of humidity and temperature. Although many cellars have fallen into disuse, some have been recovered for visits or for wine production. Visiting an old wine cellar that has been in operation for centuries and drinking a glass of wine there is an unforgettable experience.
