Our tour will begin outside the Archaeological Museum of Córdoba, located in the Páez de Castillejo palace, a beautiful Renaissance building from the 16th century whose history we will also learn about. We will visit the museum's courtyard, where we will be transported to the Roman Empire with masterpieces such as the Mitra de Cabra, beautiful Roman mosaics, or the tombstones of gladiators who died in the arena.
Inside the newly inaugurated building, we will talk about the Stele of Ategua from 800 B.C., which will immerse us in the origins of the city, or the Capital of the Musicians, which will help us imagine what the ancient capital of the Umayyad Caliphate was like when it became the most splendid city in Europe.
The final surprise will be the Roman Theater of Córdoba, discovered in the museum's underground, with dimensions that made it the second largest in the Empire, capable of seating 15,000 spectators. Here, the visit will conclude, but you will be able to continue exploring the collection on your own.
