With this segway tour you will travel through the history of Barcelona from its connection with the mountain that embraces it along the Mediterranean since its origins more than 2000 years ago.
The name Montjuïc comes from a medieval Jewish cemetery located on its northeast side. Montjuïc rises 173 m above sea level and has always been an important area in the cultural and political development of Barcelona over time. Archaeological remains of a settlement of Laietan tribes, dating back to 300 BC and considered the founding community of the region, were found on its slopes.
The Montjuïc castle, also accessible by cable car, was built on top of the hill in 1751. The mountain fortress complemented the defensive and control functions over the city of the Citadel, whose remains became today's Ciutadella Park and are also visited at the beginning of this Segway route.
The modern history of Montjuïc is no less interesting than its past. Some of Barcelona's main sights are located on its slopes, many of which will be visited during this out-of-town visit.
The area also counts among its attractions two of Barcelona's main museums: the MNAC - National Art Museum of Catalonia - and the Fundació Joan Miró.
Also in Montjuïc it is fantastic to contemplate the sunset of Barcelona from the viewpoints and terraces with their many beach bars, a beautiful experience worth sharing with friends and family.
