Starting from the famous Arc de Triomphe on Avinguda Lluís Companys, this itinerary introduces many of Barcelona's main attractions. Highlights include the famous architecture created by Anonti Gaudí - the Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló and Casa Milà ('La Pedrera') - on Passeig de Gràcia, one of Barcelona's most famous boulevards.
We will also see other lesser-known modernist icons, designed by great architects of the time such as Josep Puig i Cadafalch and Lluís Domènech i Montaner, including buildings such as the Hotel Casa Fuster, Casa de les Punxes on the Diagonal or Casa Amattler, a luxurious property in the Eixample commissioned by a chocolate magnate in 1898.
Another highlight of the tour is La Monumental, the last bullring where bullfights were held before it was banned by the Catalan Parliament.
In addition to the Eixample neighborhood, this tour also takes you on a quick getaway to the charming neighborhood of Gracia. Originally the neighborhood was not connected to the old part of Barcelona, Ciutat Vella which consists of the Gothic Quarter, the Born, the Raval and the Barceloneta, the seaside neighborhood with the renowned beach of La Barceloneta.
The Vila de Gracia was founded in the 17th century and was an independent municipality of Barcelona until its formal annexation to the city in 1897. In the Plaza de la Vila you can see its distinctive bell tower and the old Town Hall - La casa de la Vila de Gràcia. Gràcia is one of Barcelona's most picturesque neighborhoods being home to the city's young bohemian scene. Its reputation comes from a local infrastructure full of low-rise buildings and small alleyways filled with local stores, restaurants and art studios.
