How to get to Saona Island?

Clearly, the best way to get to the island and enjoy the experience is by booking a tour with Runaway Experiences. First, they pick you up in a bus at your hotel in Punta Cana. Then they take you to Bayahibe, from where you will finally be taken by boat to the island.

But if you want to do it on your own, you should get to Bayahíbe, which is about 70 km from Punta Cana. There, you should find a boat that departs for the island. The car journey can take around an hour and a half. This option is a bit less convenient but more economical.

Upon arriving at the island, you’ll think that it’s all one giant beach, but in truth, it’s divided into three large beaches: Playa Bonita, Playa del Gato, and Playa Canto de la Playa.
