Are you ready to get to know one of the most famous villages in the north of Tenerife? Here we go!
During the tour, we will walk through the old town of La Orotava. We will discover its history and admire the beauty offered by the streets of one of the oldest towns in Tenerife.
To understand the origins of this town, we will go back to the times of the conquest of the Canary Islands at the end of the 15th century. We will talk about the aborigines, or Guanches, who lived in these lands and we will emphasize the figure of Bencomo, the most powerful mencey of the island. Don't you know who the menceys were? Wait until you find out!
As we walk around, we will see large colonial houses, which stand out for their brightly colored facades, and we will come across important religious temples such as the church of San Agustín or the church of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción.
We will go to the Victoria Gardens that will offer us a wonderful panoramic view of all of La Orotava and, if the day is clear, we will also be able to see El Teide. In addition, we will tell you the history of the Masonic mausoleum that crowns this park.
We won't say goodbye before contemplating the exterior of the Casa de los Balcones, a 17th century house that has become one of the emblems of the island. You won't stop taking pictures!
