
We will begin our Maya night by exploring a typical pre-Hispanic Maya hut (constructed from perishable organic materials) and learning about their ancient customs and way of life. One of these traditions is their cooking method; in the past, women used to cook on a Xamach (grill) over three rocks. During our visit, we will have the opportunity to witness how these Maya women proudly honor this traditional cooking method by making authentic and handmade corn tortillas!
Afterwards, we will prepare for the Magical Maya Ritual. We will connect with nature and learn to play seashells (which are a powerful water element associated with healing, purity, serenity, and life). We will then be ready to participate in the Maya Ceremony.
The Shaman will initiate the Maya Ceremony: the environment is prepared to enter the "womb of Mother Earth," an ancestral purification ritual with the Temazcal, an ancient and sacred steam bath (inside, volcanic stones will elevate your body temperature), an ideal moment to relax, clear thoughts, and purify the body.
To conclude this experience, we will treat ourselves to a gratifying and refreshing bath in an illuminated cenote. Along the way to the cenote, we can appreciate the nocturnal life in the jungle, the sound of crickets, birds, and the beautiful starry sky without any pollution. Your senses will be awakened!
Dinner is served! We will enjoy a typical regional dish with a traditional drink made from hibiscus flower, citrusy and refreshing.
