Son Mut
Our first stop, on our way to the cliffs, is the Finca de Son Mut, a peculiar place where we will stop to see the largest fig tree experimentation field in the world. 1,724 fig trees of more than 830 different varieties from all over the world.
Es Cap Blanc Lighthouse
Possibly one of the wildest corners of Mallorca and one of the most impressive balconies of the coast. The lighthouse was built in 1862 and is possibly one of the most beautiful of the 14 lighthouses in Mallorca. The lighthouse, still in operation and public management, can not be visited inside, but we skirt it to admire this window to the Mediterranean while we take pictures and taste a freshly baked ensaimada.
Cala Pi Tower
On our way to the Salinas d'Es Trenc we find another unmissable place, the tower of Cala Pi, and the cliff that leads to the famous beach of Cala Pi, turquoise and crystal clear water.
Es Trenc salt marshes
Our last stop will take place in the Salinas d Es Trenc, an idyllic spot where we can appreciate the ponds in which the concentration of salt in the water is increased. This is one of those places that serves as an example to demonstrate that it is possible to create ecosystems in which the action of man and wild animals live in harmony.
A representative of the salt producing company will give us an illustrative talk about how the salt works and the different stages of the process to obtain the salt that reaches our tables. The visit ends after tasting the delicious Quelitas cookies with cheese.
