The museum was officially inaugurated on September 10, 1992 and is dedicated primarily to Spanish art. Highlights include the collections of the three great Spanish masters of the 20th century: Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí and Joan Miró.
On the other hand, the most famous masterpiece that is part of the Reina Sofia is the painting `El Guernica' by Picasso. The guide will explain some of this 20th century Spanish art, from abstractionism to cubism, not forgetting surrealism and modernism, while showing you the most representative works of each style.
This museum is housed in an elegant building (formerly a hospital) whose vaulted corridors are the ideal place to discover many of Spain's finest artists and sculptors. Along with its extensive collection of Spanish art, it also offers temporary international exhibitions in its numerous galleries, making it one of the largest museums of modern and contemporary art in the world.
All these curiosities, and the secrets that the building hides, you will learn during your guided tour.

Only 30 km from the city, one is transported several hundred kilometers forward and dozens of years, if not centuries, back. Regions of the Madrid region dense with vineyards; historic villages that the capital has forgotten but have not forgotten themselves. 900 years of winemaking tradition in the fertile region of the fertile plains where the rivers Tajuña, Jarama, Henares, Manzanares and Tajo converge, or in the granite foothills of the southern Sierra de Guadarrama, before it leaves towards Extremadura.

A small village nestled in the Sierra de Guadarrama was chosen in the mid-sixteenth century to house the Monastery of El Escorial, the greatest architectural legacy of Philip II. However, this building is only the best known attraction of what is possibly one of the most beautiful and interesting towns in Madrid: San Lorenzo de El Escorial, the dream paved with stories on which the powerful monarch erected his great refuge.

As early as the 12th century, the monks of Cluny were growing grapes on the banks of the Duero River to produce wine. The Ribera del Duero is in the heart of Castilla-León, the old land of castles. The subsoil of almost all the villages is practically hollow, with caves dug to store the wine, as they guarantee perfect conditions of humidity and temperature. Although many cellars have fallen into disuse, some have been recovered for visits or for wine production. Visiting an old wine cellar that has been in operation for centuries and drinking a glass of wine there is an unforgettable experience.
