Be amazed by the wonderful exhibition of the Underwater Museum of Art in Cancun (MUSA). For years, the reefs in Cancun have been a highly popular tourist destination, which has led to certain negative impacts on natural areas and the ecosystem. This underwater museum in Cancun is a unique initiative that aims to divert attention from the natural reefs to create an artificial one, where coral growth is encouraged and marine life has the opportunity to thrive.
This experience involves a 45-minute snorkeling tour in the Underwater Museum of Art, where you can enjoy the sight of schools of fish, turtles, and manta rays, among others. After snorkeling, and depending on the weather conditions, we will stop at a second point teeming with marine life. 'El Farito' is a famous spot for snorkeling off the coasts of Isla Mujeres, where you can relish a 20-minute visit, making it the perfect way to conclude the MUSA excursion.
Presently, these enigmatic statues are covered with algae and coral polyps; the plan has been successful, making Cancun the home of the world's largest artificial reef.
