Mallorca is filled with paradisiacal beaches. Don’t know which one to choose? We have selected the 10 most beautiful beaches and coves in Mallorca that you shouldn’t miss on your trip. We have searched for several beaches where you can enjoy individually, as a couple, or with your family.
Es Trenc Beach
Es Trenc Beach is a protected area located in the municipality of Campos, Mallorca. It’s far from hotels and buildings and is close to Ses Covetes, a very popular nudist beach.
If you decide to go to Es Trenc Beach, you’ll find crystal-clear waters and several kilometers of fine, white sand. It’s often described as the Caribbean of Mallorca. It’s the ideal beach to enjoy a full day with your family, partner, or alone.
This beach is one of the most famous in Mallorca and, at the same time, one of the most visited. Also, due to its long coastline, you can find a spot to relax if you wish.
The beach is perfect for visiting with children, thanks to its shallow waters where they can play for hours in the sand, while you relax in a calm and safe environment.
As it’s a natural area, this beautiful beach doesn’t have showers or toilets available.
Near the beach, there is a paid parking area and a blue zone for parking. However, we recommend trying to go early during peak season as these spots are limited.
TIP: Don’t forget to bring sunscreen and an umbrella, you’ll need them!
Muro Beach
Among the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca is Muro Beach, located in the municipality of Muro, next to Alcudia, in the north of the island. Muro Beach is one of the longest beaches in Mallorca, stretching about 6 kilometers with white sand and turquoise waters. The beach is divided into four sectors.
The first sector is located next to Alcudia Beach. This is the most visited sector in summer. This part has all the amenities.
The second sector, a little less visited than the first, begins at the mouth of the S’Oberta stream.
The third sector, “Es Comu,” is a protected natural area that can only be reached on foot. Here, nudists have found a sanctuary.
The fourth sector, also known as “Es Capellans” or “Cassetes de Capellans,” is located in a small holiday village with a unique charm.
It’s one of the best beaches in Mallorca to visit with children, as to reach a good depth for swimming, you have to wade in a bit along the shore.
Cala mesquida
Cala Mesquida, located near Capdepera, is one of the most beautiful coves in Mallorca. Upon arrival, you’ll find a wide expanse of white sandy beach, framed by an idyllic landscape of dunes.
We don’t recommend going to this beach with children due to its strong winds from the north and marine currents. In summer, the beach is supervised by a lifeguard and has flag signaling.
La cala cuenta con un bar y un restaurante donde podrá comprar una bebida refrescante o algo para comer. One-third of the beach offers umbrella and sunbed rentals, while the rest is free for you to lay your towel wherever you prefer.
There is a specific free parking area for the beach, but it tends to fill up quite quickly during peak season.
Cala Pi
Cala Pi is located in the southwest of the island, in the municipality of Llucmajor. The small beach is nestled between two cliffs surrounded by pine trees, which provide protection from the winds.
To access the beach, you have to descend a fairly long flight of stairs. Once you reach the bottom, you’ll discover around 300 meters of coastline with crystal-clear waters, where you can appreciate the charm of the old fishing docks.
The cove is ideal for diving; you’ll likely find various types of Mediterranean fish among the rocks.
It’s a highly visited spot by sailboats and boats due to its beautiful and picturesque landscapes. Before descending to the cove, you’ll find several restaurants and bars where you can relax while enjoying a refreshing drink.
Tip: You’ll find an iconic spot where you can take one of the best photos of Mallorca. It will surprise you.
Caló des Moro
Caló des Moro is one of the most paradisiacal coves in Mallorca. If you’re a beach lover and looking for a place surrounded by a natural environment, this is the ideal cove for you.
Caló des Moro is located in the municipality of Santanyí. It used to be one of the lesser-known beaches in Mallorca, but over time, it gained popularity and now experiences high levels of occupancy during the peak season.
To access the beach, you have to walk for about 30 minutes. Don’t worry, it’s an easy path that can even be done with children.
The beach is small and has limited sandy area. Keep in mind that it fills up very quickly, and it might be a bit challenging to find a spot for your towel.
Cala Varques
Cala Varques is located in the municipality of Manacor, in the east of Mallorca. As it is a charming cove, you’ll find it mentioned in all articles about the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca. This cove is very popular, but we still believe it’s very much worth a visit.
It’s a pristine and natural beach with fine white sand, surrounded by rocky cliffs where there are several caves that you can see from the cove.
Tip: We recommend taking a short walk along the rocky cliffs to reach a spectacular natural rock bridge. It’s quite wide, and you won’t feel unsafe if you want to take a photograph.
Muro Beach
Playa del Mago is a magical place located in the municipality of Calvia. Before reaching the beach, the path divides into two. On the right-hand side, you’ll find Playa del Mago, a small nudist beach with white sand and a beach bar.
If you prefer a bit more tranquility, you can go to the left and reach Playa del Rei. This beach is a bit larger and quieter. Both of them are incredibly beautiful.
You can access it by car, and then it’s a 5 to 10-minute walk to the beach.
You’ll encounter very calm and crystal-clear waters. The first meters of the sea are shallow.
Cala Tuent
The beautiful Cala Tuent is located in the Sierra de Tramuntana, surrounded by mountains near the famous Sa Calobra beach.
It’s an isolated, small-pebbled bay with transparent waters in shades of blue-green, forming an arch shape. It’s a very peaceful place surrounded by nature and tranquility.
To get there, you have to drive on a narrow road with many curves towards Sa Calobra. All perfectly signposted. During high season, the road can get quite busy. It’s much easier to reach by boat. We recommend taking a boat trip to this idyllic spot.
Alcúdia Beach
Alcudia Beach or Puerto de Alcudia Beach is the main beach in this area. It is one of the most well-known beaches in Mallorca.
The beach stretches for several kilometers with white, fine sand and is lined with palm trees and pine trees.
You’ll find various beach bars, restaurants, and leisure activities. It’s the perfect beach for families with children.
Sant Elm Beach
The picturesque Sant Elm Beach is located in the municipality of Andratx. It’s a small beach with views of Pantaleu Island and Dragonera. Certainly one of the 10 most beautiful beaches and coves in Mallorca.
If you want to know what to do in a day in Mallorca, this is the ideal place for you! You will be able to enjoy the small sandy beach located in the heart of the village with all the sanitary facilities.
If you want a little break from the beach, you can walk along the pedestrian streets of the village, which are full of charming restaurants, bars, and shops. That’s not all, there are many more activities you can do in Sant Elm.
