Located on the southernmost tip of the Balearic Islands, the Cap de Barbaria Lighthouse<\/span> is a true symbol of Formentera.<\/span><\/p>\n

To reach the lighthouse, you have to travel along a very narrow road, but with a beautiful landscape. Upon arrival, you’ll see the narrow, empty road, the lighthouse against the backdrop of the blue sea – an iconic image.<\/p>\n

The lighthouse is still in operation, so access is prohibited. However, this doesn’t matter much, as what truly impresses is that it stands atop a cliff.<\/p>\n

There is no entertainment of any kind nearby, making it perfect for you to relax and enjoy the place. We recommend bringing a bottle of water and something to eat to fully enjoy this landscape. Don’t miss the sunset, as it’s actually one of the best spots in Formentera to witness it.<\/p>\n

One thing you shouldn’t miss in this village is the church of Sant Ferran de Ses Roques, one of the most modern on the island.<\/p>\n

The Formentera viewpoint is located on the way to the village of El Pilar de la Mola. To reach it, you will have to drive along a winding but well-maintained road.<\/p>\n

From the road, you’ll be able to see the Formentera Viewpoint restaurant where they serve delicious Mediterranean food.<\/p>\n

Estany Pudent is a lagoon located in the north of Formentera between the towns of La Savina and Es Pujol, and is part of the Ses Salines Natural Park. However, it’s important to note that swimming in the lagoon is prohibited.<\/p>\n

We recommend visiting on foot or by bike, as it’s a place where you’ll have a greater chance of seeing various types of birds.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sant Francesc is the capital of Formentera, so it is very easy to find. If you leave the port, you just have to follow the main road for about 3 kilometers and you will see the signs to enter the village.<\/p>\n

Despite being its capital,<\/span> Sant Francesc<\/span> is a very small village, with only around 3,000 inhabitants.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the heart of the capital stands the church, surrounded by white houses and small shops offering unique and exclusive items. On Tuesday and Saturday mornings, you can find a market with clothing, books, and second-hand products.<\/p>\n

Among the things to see in Formentera, we recommend the La Mola Lighthouse, also known as the Formentera Lighthouse. This lighthouse is a must-visit, as it’s one of the most spectacular sites on the island.<\/p>\n

EIt is situated on the edge of a cliff with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea. It is a highly visited site by tourists, due to its great beauty.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a tourist town located in the north of the island, right by the beach. It is currently one of the most visited towns in the summer. Around it, you will find a wide variety of restaurants, shops, and bars.<\/p>\n

There is a night market from May to October, open every day, where you can buy souvenirs and typical items from Formentera while taking a stroll through the town.<\/p>\n

During the summer nights, it’s the only place that offers  nightlife.<\/p>\n

It is a small island located north of Formentera and is a protected territory that is part of the Ses Salines Natural Park. You can admire the islet from the beach of Illetas.<\/p>\n

The islet is privately owned (it was bought by a Belgian in 2018); however, you can still enjoy its white sandy beaches and blue-colored waters. You can reach it by ferry from the La Savina port or with a private boat.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This windmill with six blades is located very close to El Pilar de la Mola. It was one of the last windmills to be in operation.<\/p>

The windmill is open to the public, so during visiting hours, you can see inside and all of its machinery. In fact, it’s the perfect opportunity to learn a bit about the history of Formentera.<\/p>

In total, there are six windmills on the island, but we recommend visiting this one, as it is the best-preserved, even though it is over 200 years old.<\/p>

It’s a spectacular place to take out your camera and snap some photos.<\/p>
